Whether it is in business or in life, being judgmental of people is usually frowned upon. But often people forget that it is with the ability to make good decisions that we move forward. And good decisions come with the right judgement.
Just imagine how making no judgements or bad judgements will create havoc in your life and business.
Take it from my experience, I have suffered immensely. I agree that we must not be critically harsh with people. But then there are things that are completely non-negotiable. And when you ignore them, you face personal and professional losses.
But the countless mistakes over the years have taught me that there exist positive judgements- Judgements that benefit all. It involves more acceptance, overall growth, more chances and less rejection.
Why is passing judgment seen negatively?
Passing judgement is human nature, if you look closely. It is our brain’s task to put a line in between pros and cons. However, it is our choice to accept the judgement or not. So, what we accept and how we accept is dependent on us.
However, when you judge another person, a lot of things are involved than just facts and figures. You see, people are breathing, walking humans that have feelings, fears, goals and desires. But along with all that, there is a hidden expectation. An expectation to be accepted as they are.
Many times while judging, even the perception comes into the play. Different perceptions breeds different judgements. Hence, while passing judgements, the expectation to be unconditional is hurt and is badly bruised upon rejection.
The interesting part is, what you may see as a rejection, might actually not be a rejection. And sometimes, it may be the other way around. Due to this weird fusion of situations, perception and opinions, the practice of judgement is usually frowned upon.
