What is the most significant thing about her?

A story and a few memories about a friend and read addict twin.

There are special days and dates that we remember by heart. And then, there are people that make a place in our heart.

And then, once in a while, you meet people who not only rent a place in your heart with memories; But also tick mark themselves in the calendar of your life. So, you can forever be grateful for meeting them.

I vividly remember that day- 7th April 2018. It must have been half-past six when she walked in that warm cabin. That cabin got warmer in the heat of Indian Spring. She’d worn a pink shirt, blue jeans and put her curly wild hair at rest, down the shoulder. But, that wasn’t the most notable thing about her.

Her small beading eyes lighted up with her widened smile when I told her that I am a read addict. But, again that was also not the most notable thing about her.

She wanted to talk more about books and stories. But I was giving my job interview to her and her (then) senior. She is a content marketing head in a company I once worked with and now cherish with all my heart.

One evening, just casually (and informally), our HR, Shirin, asked me that how Manasi is as a team lead? (Yes, she insists on writing her name as Man(a)si.)

I didn’t have to think twice. It came out as an instinct-

“Manasi pushes me to broaden my horizons.”
